it made it main stream. There's a difference. Atari, nintendo, calico, and sega (to name a few) "ushered in" arcade gaming to the living room.

that said, 1. Action adventure =/= adventure 2. a lot of really crappy adventure games ruined adventure games, not playstation.

Ford is less greedy than lamborghini then too because their cars are cheaper right?

and almost all accessories except hard drives and wifi are comparable priced. Controlers, remotes, headsets, etc. Check amazon if u want.

You are confusing some terms. Conservative doesn't mean non-progressive. It means non-liberal. progressive lives in an entirely different realm than conservative and liberal.

On 360. It only rips off consumers when they make the wrong decision. I'm not defending them, because i would more than love a cheap HDD upgrade and won't upgrade till that's an option. That said, the system bundles themselves are good deals. Many of the accessories are rip offs though, I don't think I've bo...

is for microsoft to just make a community review site. Just take the database of games from here:

http://catalog.xna.com/en-U...

and pop on a user review thing like on metacritic or amazon or some butts. It wouldn't be hard at all, and would really be a great thing for the service.

If they get to the point where they can render pixar like scenes in real time, pixar will just up the quality of their movies more. Adding more interactive fur, more objects on scene, more effects, etc.

it's a cool concept, but it would hold back the quality of their work and have no real benefit to the playback of the scenes.

Halo 3 odst isn't an expansion. It's a stand alone title with different gameplay that occurs in the halo universe and runs on the halo 3 engine.

Also, if none of the games appeal to you why don't you just sell it. Obviously microsoft can do no right by you, so just get rid of the machine so I don't have to listen to you whine about how you never play it, which is quite frankly your loss.

Gears 2 was announced at GDC (8 months). Star Ocean was announced may 2008 (9 months). Ninja Blade was announced september last year (6 months). Stoked was announced august 2008 (5 months). Ninja Gaiden 2 was announced september 2007 (9 months). Tales of Vesperia was announced february 2008 (6 months).

M$ just has a different announcement strategy than Sony. Deal with it. It has plenty of games supposed to be coming in 2009 not counting what might be announced down the road inclu...

and to those of you saying DLC doesn't count or halo wars is a mediocre rts or race pro is a mediocre racer etc.

Killzone is just another sci-fi shooter cod4 clone. See how you can make any game seem unimportant by removing all the redeeming qualities in the description.

Here's the facts, the 360 has more exclusive tit...

stories ruined this game.

hot pursuit was the best game in the series tbh.

A lot of the features in shift sound like they will make the game very immersive.

Added blur/tunnel vision at high speeds. G forces affecting the camera. The lighting affecting the driver seat.

Really want to see them both in motion. I really think the level of customization could make or break this game too. Definitely too soon to judge which will be better, especially considering one has a launch window of this fall and one is only rumored to be out in 2010.

satire can be just as useful as what you'd consider "news".

The point of this article was just to show how ridiculous the other article was by blowing comparisons out of proportion. The point of this article, even though it doesn't say it directly, is that you shouldn't compare games that have no business being compared, especially on subjective merits.

like this:
...

The read speeds aren't nearly as much of an issue as the seek time of the BR drive in almost all cases. I'd post a link, but like above, there's too many conflicting sources and none of them really definite.

My belief in it comes primarily from hearing people, whose opinions I'd trust on the subject matter, talk about it. I'll keep looking for something more definite though.

somewhat true.

the read speed stays the same for 1 layer of the DVD and drops to 8X max for the second layer.

The benefit is more realized when you understand that games are mastered, so more important data is stored on the outer edge of the DVD, making the max data rate higher.

Blu-Ray also has worse seek times than a standard DVD drive, which is where most of the trouble comes from.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

Xbox 360 read rate max 8.2-15.86 mb/s

http://www.gamespot.com/pag...

PS3 2X blu-ray reads at 8-9mb/s

With strategic writing, which developers can use, they can write the DVD outside in, and achieve the high end of th...

I can accept that maybe you have a different view of what open might be. I'd take it as being able to interact across wide spaces, which you can do in the following video. 3 paths, which lead across a wide area and you can interact with all the paths going from up high to down low. despite being restricted to those 3 paths, I'd consider it open because the interactions can happen across the whole environment.
